I decided I would write something on Jack Radcliffe over the weekend, but instead of doing that, I worked the door at some crazy hip hop night.

I came home to find my place had been trashed because my flatmates decided to have a spontaneous house-party. I avoided the house completely on Sunday, I really didn’t want to help clean it up and I put off writing anything at all.

So here I am; it’s Monday night and I’m trying to make sense of someone else’s vision. Attempting to edit and present a man’s life work in an organic and unique way.

I discovered photographer Jack Radcliffe’s work while trawling the internet late one night. I must look at hundreds, if not thousands of images everyday, but it’s rare for me to be truly moved by someone’s work.

Jack’s photographs are richly intimate and you get the clear sense that he has developed and nurtured a genuine relationship with his subjects. I’ve always had a hard time putting my thoughts and feelings into words, but for some reason, I can always put images together in a way that makes sense.
